Sony is quite solid as well and if you don't connect it to the internet it's one of the best "dumb" TVs.

100%. I've owned Teslas since 2017 and always found the infotainment to be very good. Though I've really preferred Apple Maps routing recently. The descriptions of when to turn are much more human.

Today I Learned... that's great to hear!

Quite a few reasons but primarily CarPlay doesn't know about your vehicle's charge and road trip navigation requires external inputs to determine your charge route. Apple could potentially offer an API to have "reverse"

People in this thread don't know the difference between performance and scale.

Each request gets its own server! Wait isn’t that lambda?

Rails scales fine. People use that as an escape hatch when they don't know how to write performant code.

Yeah. Sometime around 2021 I believe. I’ve been here since 2012.

Yes they can. You have to badge out of offices as well. Citation: I currently work at Amazon.

I've been looking for solid high CRI LED bulbs, thank you. Lately I've been using the GE Reveal/Relax. They were better than the contractor grade bulbs that came with the house but still just... wasn't there. If you know

Interesting. The last 6 apps I've reverse engineered they all had pinning on.

I haven't run into an app I've reverse engineered that didn't have it.

Unfortunately with modern iOS/Android you need a rooted device. Modern iOS/Android have something called SSL Pinning. Which means if you want to use a self-signed cert to Man in the Middle the HTTPS traffic it won't work. S

Listen to the audio. The whole front dash is shaking during acceleration. The front suspension of the car vibrates pretty badly during moderate to heavy acceleration. They claim that of the 5 suspension settings (Very High, High, Standar

Just sold my Audi to get a Tesla. 3.5 years and 42,000 miles and the car was never in the service center for more than a scheduled service. Tesla has been in the SC 4 times in 6 months of ownership.

They say it's within spec. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VABAR362zLw EDIT: I emailed the Seattle SC and they seemed indifferent at best.

Yeah? My $100k+ Model X built over a year after the release has been into the service center 4 times to fix 42 issues. One of which they refuse to.

I have taken in my Model X for a front end vibration issue that they refuse to fix 4 times. This is a June 2017 build, which is rather recent. Tesla is deferring quality issues to their service centers instead of fixing them at the factory

Unless I'm mistaken they don't have access to your location while running in the background. Running != access to location.

by ChadMoran 9y ago
iOS 11 introduced the ability to allow apps to only access your location while you're actively using the app. Using this method should be a good mitigation.

This, so much this. I have nystagmus which means my eyes move uncontrollably. Primarily on the horizontal plane. While my brian compensates for this and I don't see a moving image anything that uses PWD flickers very, very badly. PWM

Unless you're looking to buy a house in 5+ years putting your down payment in the market is super risky. When you have $100k+ in a savings account $1k/yr isn't bad.

I do. I use Ally banking which is 1%. Great place to store a house down payment.
