Thank you, I have yet to see a workflow mentioned here that is not just as easy in jj (just conceptually different). Also learning about progress git workflows though, so that's cool.

I think you are misunderstanding the autocommit, but maybe I am. I think you don't need to do this after every autocommit but only before the manual ones? Isn't that how amending commits in git works? The unamended commit is no lo

So in your workflow you never "git commit -a"? So you have to always manually mark what you stage. Which is probably more work than always manually removing the changes you don't want to commit. The ability to rewrite older c

I don't see how these things are an issue in jjs design, nor do I see how staging some files is easier than splitting a commit after the fact... Check out the documentation, many of the cases you are concerned about are explicitly ment

Isn't the idea that you continue editing the working copy commit until you actually commit it? Also from the documentation: https://github.com/martinvonz/jj/blob/main/docs/git-comparis... "

This looks incredibly good to me. The working copy as "commit being worked on right now" is a much simpler data structure than the "working copy + stash + staging area" of git. I really hope this succeeds... VSC support

After reading some of the science on auditory perception it seems you are wrong. If you perceive a signal in the left ear and then get a louder signal on the right ear a few milliseconds later you will perceive this as one sound coming from

With simultaneously present signals... Edit: I can also tune a guitar by plucking two strings at once, but I can't by plucking them one at a time. This really has nothing to do with noticing the absence or presence of a 3ms latency dif

I have both signals coming in at the same time and can superimpose them. Completely different situation. Like tuning strings by hearing when you can pluck both strings at the same time, vs doing it using absolute pitch.

I do absolutely not doubt a 3ms difference in timing being perceptible with two rythmic signals. I absolutely do doubt a 3ms latency though. You are claiming that someone can tell the difference between playing the game oneeter or two metre

You can set up a double bound really easily for this. Play on speaker, and have someone move the speaker a couple of metres. See if you really can tell whether it has been moved.

Sorry, but: 3ms is how long it takes sound to travel a meter. Do you notice the difference in audio/video sync between sitting in the front or the back of the cinema?

Why is t in (-infinity, +infinity) less mysterious than t in (0, infinity)? There is no reason to assume that everything has a cause. It is perfectly logically consistent to have things without cause in the universe.
