It is the spark plug insulator. They are using the ceramic from it to break the glass. I remember hearing about this in the 90s with thieves carrying insulators on strings in their pockets. https://www.carparts.com/blog

Microstepping mostly is just to reduce noise and vibrations. The motors tend to fall to the nearest full step when loaded hard. Most people I have discussed this with believe there is little resolution gain (if any) past 4x microstepping b

Funny you mention it. I made Nocino back in June. Green walnuts kept falling and I said "I wonder what people do with these?" First 2 hits on a search were Nocino and pickled walnuts...I chose the former. :)

I made some Lichen dye from local shield lichen last spring. Still have it in a jar and need to test but it is supposed to be a reddish brown. Also, I processed a bunch of Black Walnuts this month and I hear if you save the water used in t

I remember my friend had a 70s Dodge Dart (Slant 6 automatic) and his starter went out. His father pushed the car with his truck up to 35mph and then he put it in drive...it push started. But yeah...typically that is a very bad idea for a

Good note...especially since I misspoke. Apparently..it doesn't use standard Miller cycle. They are calling it Budack cycle. https://alexsautohaus.com/whats-changed-with-volkswagens-new...

I would imagine that pulling the air from the bottom would help more with scavenging the cylinder than the top but yeah...I can imagine it wouldn't matter. That all makes sense. Pretty much what I assumed. The compression stroke at #

I suspect the second stroke is higher compression. First stroke has the compression "shape" controlled by the boost (miller cycle). With direct injection they could even be injecting more fuel into the cylinder for the second str

Not sure myself... Seems to be like it is a Miller cycle (or could be) on the initial 4 strokes. Which would allow you to control the timing of the "Compression max point" in the stroke by varying the boost. That may also vary

My assumption is there is a context difference. Efficiency in fuel/mile. Efficiency in Power output/liter of displacement. But that is just my assumption. You can have a relatively small engine and force a ton of air/fuel int

That actually makes a lot of sense merging with some comments from above. Second stroke goes lower and there are some ports to add air which are not accessed during the initial compression stroke...so the stroke is longer (higher compressio

Miller cycle (IIRC) was a bit different. It simply kept the intake valves open longer and used boost from it's supercharger to emulate a valve "closing". It used a boost level that was significantly higher than a superchar

Creality/Bambu killed more small companies (and Reprap) than it bothered Stratasys IMHO. But yes...there very well may be a security concern there too. Bambu sends/receives info from the companies servers. At least once this has
