Don't put too much thought into this. We had ~1 view when I applied a year back and we got called in for interviews.

Even if I make a call from Skype to my cell phone, I can hear the audible "ring" on Skype long before my actual phone begins to ring.

Microsoft is not shy about "posturing themselves as opponents to Android", and has been doing so for a long time. It's not really a surprise here.

There was a really cool project a few months back of a variation of vertical scrolling, where the current page is "peeled" back revealing the next page from top to bottom. The effect was you can read as you normally would but lines are stat

Client side saving is already implemented. In a few instances where I disconnected from the server and continued to play, SimCity would try to push my work to the server on reconnect. At times this wouldn't work and I would lose my progress

This is known as "the halting problem". A very fundamental problem to computer science. There are some clever strategies used to minimize this issue, but it currently has no solution.

Except for the fact that the receiver is getting a letter in the mail from someone they've never met informing them that they are owed money. Pretty much screams scam, even though it isn't in this instance.

You almost make it sound as if it could be done if you didn't care about scalability and "nice to haves". Make me the site he described, and have it work for only 1 user, even half the time, and I'll give you $1000 gladly.

Comical statement, but CAPTCHA's were indeed created because of need (bots exist, and aren't make believe!).

It's not Google's job to protect the rights of other companies. Plus, the way you phrase it, you're say that you wish Google would have held out to make it easier for future competitors to upset them. Sure the outcome sucks, but your commen

Are you sure you're not referring to animated GIFs ? The slow FPS rate occurs as they load, and is contained to the GIF itself. Surely a static GIF would not reduce your browser FPS.

Except this has actually been a blackberry feature for years . I'm not sure why this is being advertised as a BB10 feature. I had this 6 years ago on my blackberry phone.

I'm actually insanely jealous of you if a "What the fuck" interview was about binary trees and linked lists. All my interviews have /started/ at that point and gotten way worse. I still get anxiety thinking about some of my job interviews.

The isDeleted flag is good because it gives the appearance that the data is gone, without removing the context of the data itself. Immutable facts are great if you want to: 1) Avoid a large amount of updates/race conditions on your tables.

AFAIK Kindle apps have roughly the same abilities as Android itself, so using those APIs should be no problem. I don't really see why Amazon is limiting this to the Kindle platform.
