Yes, you need slightly better flux to avoid using toxic heavy metal in your hobby electronics.

That's not actually true though. I find SAC305 to wick into joints faster than leaded solder does, provided you have quality flux in the solder. If you get the cheapest lead-free solder you can find on Amazon it will be bad. Doubly so

None if you use quality lead-free solder.

It's only horrid when the flux it comes with is crap. Most people try the cheapest garbage they can find on Amazon, and that's the problem. I use Chipquik SAC305 with water-washable no-clean flux core and I actually prefer working

From a Youtube interview with Gordon Murray I saw, the T.50 has fan-enhanced diffusers, the fan ingesting the boundary layer to prevent flow separation. It's not able to produce extra downforce at zero speed. The McMurtry Spéirling is

I tried one the other day at an Apple store. The click feedback is too weak, and the stepless acceleration is not what my brain expects, so I found it frustrating.

For this you don't need to sell it 5+ years down the road—you pop in a new mainboard with the latest processor, for much less than a new laptop would cost, and off you go.

Once buckling occurs, it hardly matters what's in compression and what's in tension: the applied force has a tremendous mechanical advantage over the material strength resisting it once the stiffness fails to prevent it from cro

Carbon fiber is used because it is rigid. The failure mode for a member in compression is buckling, which is resisted by stiffness, not strength. It's also a lot easier to make a huge thick tube out of composites than out of titanium

The Xreal isn't a wide FOV at all though, unsuitable for what SimulaVR is going for. It's more literally a head mounted display, rather than a virtual reality headset, with its 46° field of view.

The "shiny" aspect is the only way an improperly soldered joint can look the same on lead-free, and as a lead dev on an open-source hardware project that attracts a lot of people new to soldering, I have never ever seen a non-shin

I urge people to ditch leaded solder in favor of lead-free. Most difficulties people have in using lead-free comes from one of three things: 1. a poor soldering iron 2. bad quality solder (the cheap stuff with bad flux is bad, duh) 3. poor
