It doesn’t solve all of the issues. The USB-C port can support DisplayPort 1.2 or 1.4 bandwidths and you have to make sure it matches up for some high-resolution monitors to work.

I was able to use a 5120x1440 resolution on my MacBook Pro using SwitchResX. No idea why Mac OS doesn’t let you select that resolution.

You can use split tunnelling or linux network namespaces to keep the VPN running at all times, but with only your torrent client‘s network connection going through it. Some VPN companies also provide apps with the feature built-in.

There is an algorithm to authenticate without sharing the plaintext password from client to server, nor server to client - SRP. I know Apple uses it.

It’s tough to use TFL anonymously. You only need to pay once by card for them to link it to you. You cannot get refunds (e.g. train delay) without registering the card.

I strongly recommend iwd over wpa_supplicant. It is simple, intuitive, and just works. I have been using it on my laptop for over a year with no issues.

Plenty of people are saying it should be purely biometric. For example, iPhones. (Though they do it better than the vast majority of implementations!)
