Yes, I am encouraging people to donate to Signal because I prefer it. Why would I be soliciting donations for something I don't favor? If you want to contribute to something else go right ahead, but this is a thread about Signal's

I'm not suggesting every chat service get donations. I'm only giving to Signal, the rest of the chat services I have to use get 0. I'm donating more than my costs deliberately because I fully understand that most users are no

Great, you go ahead and get all your friends in family using Matrix. I'll join you there when all that is sorted out and it's practical to get my lawyers and doctors and accountants and friends and family onboard. Until then, we&#

Right, I totally hate being able to text, voice, video, send files, and screen share with individuals or groups of people, including half my contacts who use iPhone. Also, fuck them for making all of it sync to all my computers. And I espec

Seriously consider setting up a recurring donation if you prefer Signal. They have delivered consistently over the years. I set the $20/month back when they introduced the option. I'm curious what the breakdown of donations is. I

Yes I have seen this. The disk write speed randomly gets super slow and tons of stuff just locks up at random as many many programs assume it'll be fine to do little writes synchronously. The whole machine becomes totally unusable. I s

That's true. We might see liability arising from recklessly spreading fakes, similar to the liability of creating a hazard that hurts someone. Like, there's nothing wrong with having a fake bomb, but if you leave it in an airport

Let me address that. I do agree with you that there is a difference, but the context matters. In this case, Johnny is making these fakes with the faces of a bunch of the girls at school. Everyone knows they are fake. So in this sense, they

It's not the same for women and we shouldn't pretend otherwise. Nudes of a women do real damage to her. Her social standing is actually lowered as a result. She will even suffer again in the future if the material becomes known to

I don't understand the logic of this. Belle speaks as if it is actually a nude photo of herself. Doesn't she understand that it's not?
