Cable companies are terrible at getting good software on televisions. They are obsessed with control. They flirted with OCAP for years and after a decade it was all a waste.

As revolting as it is, it is a good article. Most new apps on the various app stores I suspect are reskins/duplicates of old ones.

My opinion of google improved reading this article. I equate the quality of Google's search as the inverse of the happiness of "seo gurus".

Normally yes but I am just sick of his vitriol. I wanted to call him out for a long time. Sadly it is probably my highest rated comment. He at least had the decency to delete his posts in the thread.

Tptacek, I always know exactly which threads you will post your combative, confrontational, annoying posts before I click on them. You are the drama queen of hackernews.

I read about continuum after the fellow who developed numpy left a few days ago to work on continuum. I am curious to see actual projects using continuum. So some sort of writeups.

Linux always wins? I disagree! Desktop linux adoption is still in the low single percentages. I think your linking linux with democracy/capitalism is very random.

It is a terrible way of discovering it. It's the same as if they asked you a php question. You answer it, and then they say 'wrong!!!! the right answer is php sucks, in ruby I do it like so:...'

They avoid a normal conversation because then the interviewer would not be able to be achieve a master smug rating. You need to be psychic and 'get' what direction or type of response that they expect.

I always found job postings by YC companies surreal. The ideology espoused by YC is to be a founder of a startup. If you are a talented engineer, why would you work for 1-2%(if your lucky) equity and less salary than google/facebook/etc.

Forbes quality is awful. I suspect it is auto generated using some huge n-gram corpus that generates random garbage.

You were not harsh. It really was a boiler plate article. The title of the post did not match what I thought the article would contain (a unique personal story). It is good feedback for the author. Don't be afraid to be honest.
