Its not just GMAIL. Google analytics is painfully ugly. The first screen before showed a list of all the sites and traffic. Now it shows just the list of accounts. Its awful. There is no way anymore to use the classic design. Also, onc

It's not just consultants. They connect you with industry experts. One of the biggest spammers on linkedin I find are these types of companies looking for domain experts.

I needed to build a audio corpus to train acoustic models on. It actually worked pretty good. I was able to build up about 100 hours worth. It was unbelievably tedious because I had to verify the audio even after I used amazon turk a sec

Wow this is expensive. Over a dollar a word. "what time is it" costs 6$. I actually looked into their other company, voice123 to do some audio corpus building for a speech recognition project but it was way cheaper(though painful) to just

One of the tremendous values of being in a masters program is having access to JSTOR and all the other journal sources. Before I would email the professor and request a copy, usually they would oblige.

There was an open source app that used sphinx to filter for the word twitter and mute it called twitterkiller. Shame it disappeared but it was listed at: http://cmusphinx.sourceforge.net/wiki/sphinxinaction

They are getting a huge amount of free press. I have read at least two other stories and seen it on tv. That, combined with customers who approve of the ban will significantly outweigh the losses from kids/young families.

I worked briefly at Nortel. It makes me sad reading these articles. Nortel was a great company that still could have been successful today were it not for terrible corrupt high level management.
