I think Twitter and LinkedIn may have patents on this dark pattern, based on the frequency with which they do it. Seriously, Twitter has ~20 email subscription options now, and they add a new one (and opt you in) every month.

I have no idea what you're referring to. The OP took issue with the default algorithm(s) selection order over the course of two paragraphs. I noted they were recently changed in the latest OpenSSH release to exclude weak ciphers.

I'm assuming dropping a couple thousand dollars for a Mac and a "dev account" is obligatory to get any serious iOS training, development, testing? Good point, had a brain fart. I suppose it depends on how little you want to spend, obvious
