I haven't dived into the code much so the answer might be obvious. But, where would this trackers live? Would I have to host them somewhere (I presume they can be written in whatever language I want since you have an API)? Or how would

Video playing is not handeled by JS. You only use JS to control the player (if you want). The playing itself is handeled by the browser somewhere. So no, you don't need JS for html5 video.

This is also in my start page of chrome. Google's search bar is now also the main thing on my start page. And the thumbnails for my favourite pages are smaller and under it. I hate it. Does anyone know how to get rid of this? The thing

Here in London they show at least one ad for a game before the movie. London is also littered with billboards for this and other games...

"That last point is very important, given that IE8 is still the world’s most popular browser." Note that this is really not true. If you look at various[1] global browsers stats pages, you'll notice that NetApplications (wher

Even 'alert(1)' produces over 500 chars. Imagine running a proper app trough this. It's hardly cheap.

A lot of banks are switching to web based trading platforms. The work is very interesting a you are building a huge single page app (not really comparable to most of the "standard" SPAs you encounter in terms of size and complexit

I've written[1] about this trend way back in June of 2009. The drop wasn't as dramatic as it is now, but it was certainly there. We have (fortunately) come a long way since then. It's also funny reading how Chrome had a 1.9%

Do you have any sort of caching in your app? Memcache, for instance, can go a long way in helping you scale.

You have to move your hand more if there is a numerical part. Make the keyboard narrower and you reduce hand movements by a lot. And that helps.

I'm always surprised when I see people say stuff like this. For me every recommendation on every social network was more in the line of 'SELECT user FROM users ORDER BY RAND()'. I guess I'm doing something right.

That just can't work. Imagine every Ferrari worker being able to afford a Ferrari. What would that mean for a price of a Ferrari, eh? The price would have to go up, and then the wages, and then the prices and so on.
