Lately Intel seems to be getting a lot of flack here. As a layperson in the space who's pretty out of the loop (I built a home PC about a decade ago), could someone explain to me why that is? Is Intel really falling behind or dressing

I think OP put this just as good or better than I could've in their blog post. > I think Kubernetes has fallen into the Vim/Haskell trap. People will try it for 10 minutes to an hour then get fed up. The point where you start t

For those curious, CAFO stands for "Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation". I was unfamiliar with the term and had to look it up. See link for more details (found in Wikipedia sources) [0]: > A CAFO is another EPA term for a la

This is probably the most fascinating thing I've read so far on the subject. Given that many other brokerages seem to be doing the same as Robinhood, is it safe to assume they also are not accounting for such situations? Also, another

The key word there is "scheme". If we both agree out loud that the sun will rise tomorrow we're not scheming to make it so. If some dude in an expensive suit gets on TV and says a stock will fall then buys a couple billion in

This might be the opposite of what you're looking for, but p5.js[0] is a decent candidate if you want to build a barebones game (physics) engine yourself. It may sound like a lot but you may be surprised to see how far you can get depe

Isn’t a transparent monitor just a window with a HUD? My first thought was that this could have exciting use-cases in vehicles. However, aside from nighttime driving, the relatively poor brightness would likely quickly rule it out. Anyway,

Perhaps the valuable takeaway to this is what we have is good but not enough? I don’t have any profound insight here, but I think it’s at least encouraging to know that there could still be some innovation in language design out there to be

Is there any way to know if macOS is doing something like this natively already? I ask because my late 2019 16 in. MPB has ridiculously amazing speakers for its size and format. I’ve always wondered if it was more than just the hardware.

Just to clarify my understanding, none of this is free though, right? If I understand correctly, every WASI will have to be maintained to achieve and preserve feature parity as new features are added to the language or, in the worst case, a

I’ve only ever met two kinds of people with regards to Joyce; those who hate this and those who love it. I have to admit, however, that I’ve never felt compelled to investigate for myself. I’m glad. Wow, that is astoundingly dense.

I can’t argue with that. I think the syntax highlighting is also part of it. It’s hard to have vivid, readily meaningful colors against a background that is washing everything out. Shades of dark text just aren’t as compelling. Come to thin

I’ll admit it’s not the best phrasing (and I’m definitely not an ophthalmologist, so I’m playing fast and loose here). Your pupils dilate to let in more light because there’s less light overall when the background is black. This causes your

They taught us this in advertising. White text scatters over the iris on a dark background, so it’s harder to read the copy. I’ve even read it in UX articles. It was amusing to get out of school and into the tech industry to find dark mode

I was about to suggest this may also vary by subject, but using philosophy as a case study it seems to at least somewhat hold water. I’ll use philosophy only because I minored in undergrad, so I’m not an expert but I’m also a bit more well
