Yeah, I like that. Because even a chmod of a directory causes another layer with all the data duplicated, it would be better if I can just squash the selected lines.

I don't think you can catch errors compile time with all the magic reflection Spring uses, such as resolving services, injected values etc.

It is not type safe and relies on runtime reflection based checks to make it work correctly, it can crash easily. However, I believe I made all the checks correctly and it should work as intended, but of course it is only 600 LOC, there can

Unfortunately, to achieve the functionality I described, I must have used reflection like that, which is not really nice, but I really prefer it to context based methods type assuming and casting which is essentially the same. I know people

The admin UI was really good and they started to strip features away from it one by one and now it is disabled. It even could do simple graphs and was very useful for debugging.

The level of verbosity is good, however when you replace almost all your catch exceptions with ex.printStacktraces() it gets enormously large and unmaintainable across a large project when too many things prints stack taces concurrently. No

Maybe you should realize not all software are made to be used on 5inch devices, considering Palantir's tools, data exploration and other data intensive sites, it does not make sense to focus on mobile, because your target audience will

Not all things are supposed to be mobile. All the products we write are supposed to run on a large display for our case.

Native packages are nothing more than packaged software with startup and maintaining scripts, (and tested) so as long as you can manage these, I really don't see I have to stick to what my vendor thinks best.

I really don't understand why you insist. You keep saying "best-practice" like it is a law, but the truth is there is no such thing is best. It fits our cases, worked well, continues to work well. Did I say it cannot be mana

I ageee, also CPUs do not really get much faster over years and I/O is more likely to matter to most applications. Only reason to upgrade just for processor would be for longer battery times, but it is already long enough for 2015mbp.

Well we have a fat jar of 100 MB to deploy on Flink, so I guess it will be much larger if all modules have submodules.

I wish the browsers moved on with the support as fast as Node so that we can get rid of stupid hundreds of MBs dependencies to transform a arrow function.

Because, systemd is like a mafia in modern(!) linux distros, you have to pay tribute to it by integrating with it, because it is an all controlling daemon. Not trying to flamewar here, but as you do, I really dont understand why we need to

Not actually, but swarm services with docker application bundle (dab) seems like a replacement for docker-compose and makes it redundant. All they had to do was promote compose from a cli tool to docker daemon itself and it would be great,
