A surprising number of Americans seem to think it's reasonable to tax non-residents, so such legislation may be hard to get passed. If you support such legislation, consider supporting lobbying groups such as American Citizens Abroad

Even if you live in a swing state, it's not throwing your power away. It's signaling discontent with the popular party, and it incentivizes said party to support election reform (such as ranked voting.) If you live in a state wher

user.js files are awesome for Firefox. You just specify a list of preferences which then are applied every time you start Firefox. (And here's a popular preconfigured user.js https://github.com/pyllyukko/user.js )

In the given scenario, the author signs tags and not commits. So the malicious commit wouldn't be signed at all because no commits are signed, and therefore nothing would look out of place. The article is arguing that only signing tags

I see it as an improved method of confirming that it's working. For power users it may be pointless, but for the average user who probably has never used any kind of 2FA (perhaps besides SMS) it makes them go through the real motions o

One thing not mentioned that I like is having 2FA be non-enforced for a set period of time after enabling it. So you still have to enter it the next N days, but if you set it up wrong or did something stupid you can disable the 2FA without

I tried kitty very briefly, but its startup speed feels very slow. As someone who prefers using my WM to manage multiple windows, a slow startup speed is absolutely killer for me. Edit: I did some basic tests using slow motion recording on

to_owned() converts to a String, not to a &'static str. Those are not the same. You can't create a &'static str dynamically (though you can mutate one using unsafe.)
