I don't honestly think that the students are "dumb", I think they tried to work out the answer so they wouldn't fail the test with out trying. That's usually my method, if I don't know how to work out the answe

They could've prevented this with using a salt, but instead of using a salt they make it even worse by not hashing but using encryption. Basically if some one got the key they could get the passwords to everything including the FBI Age

Agreed. It's at the least worth a try and if you fail not only can you go back to school but the fact that Peter Thiel, Co-Founder of Paypal believed in you will at least do you some good, reputation wise.

I completely agree though I think the head teacher probably saw the attack on his school and used the students use of words like anarchism as a justification for punishing him which I don't think the student deserved.

As he's stated, English is not his first language and is not the first language of many HN users. Leave the poor guy alone and the android browser is behind a few years when it comes to standards. Upgrade to chrome or Firefox.

Even though the pictures are under Creative Commons BY-NC-SA 2.0 I do feel right using them and it seems like a lot of work to parse the data into your own website, there are server side libraries that can do this for you.
