Except that English does not have a "spelling system". At all. Even a passing glance at English would reveal that.

Nope. Proper nouns are to be pronounced in whatever way is dictated by the country of origin. Also, no, English is not very reliable when it comes to spelling vs. pronunciation. (Former diction teacher, here.)

Um, that doesn't make an incorrect pronunciation correct. That's not how anything works.

As a professional singer of Bach, I feel that the integration of Bach made a lot of sense and worked very well. I am forced to wonder if the author of this review was a high-level musician.

You seem very confused about what "extortion" means, and also about what "psychopathic" means. So I'd suggest starting there.

Humans gain object permanence at around 3 months of age. This software does not yet seem to have mastered it.

Perhaps it will be, and we'll find out if that's true, but meanwhile, we shouldn't be arbitrarily rewriting headlines when we post them here, especially to make them say things radically different from what the original headl

These are very good examples, but we just witnessed an even better one: Trump has been, for all practical purposes, entirely silenced, simply because Twitter deplatformed him.

We don't have a "moral duty" to force corporations to allow Nazis on their platform, though. The Nazis are perfectly capable of building their own platform.

I swear to God, if this happened with my TV I'd take it back to the store in whatever way I could find that would cost the manufacturer the most money. Intolerable. "Smart" TVs should be banned. Streaming devices or nothing.

The poster's rewrite of this article's actual headline is misleading. Nowhere in the article is it stated that Parler has been "permanently" blocked.

The promotion isn't the cause, here. It's a symptom of a societal collapse on many levels.

Next step: ban the electric leaf blowers, too. Get a rake. Or, just stop being a lawn fetishist—also a good option.

I read "Class" back in the 80s when it was released, still have my dusty copy of it on the shelf, and this is a great take on it.

1Password is the best I've seen out of several alternatives. Works flawlessly on all devices, great syncing, great UI. Highly recommended, well worth its price. Easy enough to set up that I've helped a few relatives around age 80

I didn't accuse anyone of being dishonest; you should probably retract that. Also, since you seem so very certain about this, I offered 10-1 odds on $100 elsewhere in the thread if it's proven Apple is doing this intentionally as

Downvoting of this comment is ludicrous. This is a very serious accusation and it's irresponsible to fling around such charges without evidence. There's no way Apple is doing this.

This tweet and claim don't really pass the laugh test, given that Apple has gone out of its way to help Apple Card holders who needed to skip payments for months in a row during covid. There's simply no way that Apple is doing thi

Every part of this is a made-up, unsupported, bad-faith, outright lie. No part of this is “more likely” based on my 30 years of experience of actually dealing with Apple. What’s actually more likely, in my experience, is Apple going above a
