I use Pi-Hole + Unbound forwarding to Cloudflare/Quad9 over TLS. It would be nice if all servers supported DoT/DoH + DNSSEC and you could roll your own recursive DNS server and have more trust in traffic not being intercepted. Pos

They certainly make better privacy commitments and have more transparency than my ISP. Cloudflare DNS supports DNS-over-HTTPS and DNS-over-TLS. Cloudflare DNS claims to anonymize IPs in logs and only retain anonymized logs for 25 hours.[1]

Google Chrome Sync help docs imply it defaults to storing data on servers unencrypted by default.[1] Firefox Sync seems to have sane/encrypted defaults.[2] [1] https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/165139

We did also cut the intracoastal waterway through swamps/marshes for commercial purposes (including large scale cypress logging). It's real easy to see on google earth all the nice straight lines we cut all over the place. That

Personally, as a Goodreads user I don't care about the review ratings. I'm there for: a) making a list of things I want to read b) finding more books by authors (including upcoming) to add to that list c) release dates for b

I don't think crimestoppersusa.org actually has direct tip submission on its site? It looks to me like it links primarily to other crime stoppers programs (which do have tip submission). Your argument definitely stands though: there&#x

I would agree if we were just talking about accidental, spontaneous misinformation. But on twitter you've got bad actors pushing propaganda that can be very hard to differentiate from honest opinion. And I think you underestimate how g

We do still have mosquito abatement programs too. I know here in Louisiana the local abatement program has trucks that spray synthetic pyrethroid chemicals (resmethrin, sumithrin and prallethrin) at night and uses an organophosphate (naled)

Fraud would be a more worrying concern if they were allowed to photograph ballots. In some states it's illegal to photograph your own ballot due to concerns of vote selling and coercion. The distance thing is complicated. I assume it

How is Intel dying? Losing a near monopoly is a far cry from dying. And Amazon's Graviton/armv8 chips aren't going to be competitive for many workloads. If you look up benchmarks you'll see they generally aren't com

I'm curious, what games have moved exclusively to TCP? Most (all?) multiplayer games I play still seem to use UDP, though there is definitely more mixed TCP use than there used to be.

I think the typical way to do DNS over HTTPS is to run a DoH client/DNS proxy and then point your nameservers at localhost. I'm not really sure what benefit there is to doing this compared to DNS over TLS with a resolver like Unbo
