That looks like a cool app, but it is not a new kind of calculator: see also Calca and Soulver for previous work in this space. I think adding a grapher is a real advance, however.

The next time you wonder why a major online game launch didn't seem to have exercised the proper care for quality, redundancy, and the other factors that go into keeping your site up -- go back and re-read this job posting.

He's been doing marketing for ages. Search back on HN a bit; every six months or so someone links to a new profile piece on him and his business. He's just really good at PR.

The old stuff is fun, but I've gotta recommend the newer efforts for really high quality text adventure. The current interactive fiction subculture is doing some pretty keen stuff, both novel and retro-flavored. I think Emily Short

Eh. If I don't mind someone editing Wikipedia from work (and I don't), I don't mind a Senate staffer editing Wikipedia from work. I would mind if it turned out to be an astroturf campaign but I don't see any evidence of

But on the flip side, nobody ever talks about barbecue in San Francisco, so it balances out. (Hill Country Barbecue in Menlo Park is pretty solid, wouldn't be laughed out of Austin.)

This is a pure publicity piece. McDonald's had a chicken wrap on the menu in 2006, albeit without as many vegetables. An article about the business of the McWrap would talk about earlier versions of the menu item, whether or not they s
