Go look at a map of Tucson. Look at where the Titan II missile museum is, then look where Biosphere 2 is. Now tell me how much it would cost to build public transit between those two locations, and how many people would take it. Trailheads

Wow, you sent me down a serious rabbit hole. That core looks awesome, and the ring bus blew my mind [1]. What is the practical difference between a very wide SIMD processor vs very many single-instruction processors? Is there any? They say

Since I've got you, allow me to apologize for all the knee-jerk cynics in this thread. I trust you will continue to ship great product and that your incentives will remain aligned with those of your users. Just pinky promise me that yo

This is disinformation and you should delete it. I don't use that term lightly, Nuclear FUD is spread by Russia to keep the west dependent on their oil, and you're helping them whether you know it or not. In reality, Uranium is mo

Right? I also find this journalism style infuriating. Very egocentric. I like the Economist's style, articles don't even have authors listed and when they must talk about themselves they say "your correspondent" which I

For me it's the colleagues. Rubbing elbows with people much smarter and further in their careers than I am is worth making the ~20 min commute. But any incentive provides the same effect.

Even the most optimistic reading has these "rain panels" well under 1W/m^2. For comparison, peak solar irradiance is something like 1400W/m^2. This webpage has already burned more energy than that panel will ever produce
