Dover Publications has a whole catalog of old math textbooks. It's amazing how good many of them still are.

I agree with you. They assume the level of math of an MIT freshman. And the level of computer experience of a modern 11 year old. So sometimes they lean on the math in situations where a professor today might explain something in terms of a

I wouldn't recommend it as a starting point, but I learned a lot from The Mythical Man Month. It seems like every agile/scrum/kanban/lean book starts by arguing that the old ways of managing projects had problems. It was

NASA doesn't mess around with simulators. I've read accounts from astronauts and ground controllers where they say their actual missions feel anticlimactic after all the insane things they had to do in the simulators. Gene Kranz m

And it's worth noting that this footage shows an event that we watched live in 2001. The idea that any of it could have been faked in realtime across all TV networks is beyond science fiction.

I don't even think the officers' politics matters all that much. The primary motivation of my cop friends is to get home safe at the end of the day. Gigantic disruptions that have the potential to turn violent are a bad thing.

This makes more sense than GP. I can't imagine it's legal to block traffic in Canada. If a car breaks down on a Canadian highway, do the authorities throw up their hands and say "If only we could do something!" I imagine
