I feel like it's pretty rare that I'll find something as convenient as a pole to lock my bike to and other than that, I don't see how this can be used.

Does anyone know what is meant by "Stalemate is a win, not a draw." Who wins on a stalemate?

I thought this was an especially interesting point: "Every great man that I have known has had a certain time and place in their life that they use as a reference point; a time when things worked as they were supposed to and great things we

Looks interesting. I'm curious to see what some of the micro-volunteering jobs are before having to sign up.

Yes, most high level play isn't really looking to do all-in rushes like this. The goal is more to "fast econ harrass to early map control" giving you an early advantage and allowing you to eventually win.

This is pretty cool to see programs "solving" video games. Although, for the most part I don't think this will affect play much. All-in strategies like this tend to only work if the other player is unprepared. Granted, this is a very fast r

To be honest, I feel like as long as the student completed a thesis that deserved a PhD then I think he deserves the degree. A PhD focuses around that piece of work. The article is unclear about this point but it sounds like the deficiencie

I believe it is a lower (and upper) bound on the worst-case. The case of "1" begin on top is a specific case, that is obviously not the worst possible.

I assume the resistive touch screen doesn't do multi-touch. In addition, it is probably less sensitive since it will require a bit of pressure and not just touch.

I was going to guess Caltech which has a very similar policy and culture as described. The only thing that didn't fit was the "women's college across the street".

The article seems to imply that optimizing for power means Intel isn't innovating in CPUs. Optimizations in power allow the chip to be clocked faster (or perform more in parallel) leading to overall performance improvements. These optimizat

Agreed. SoCs are also typically built for specific applications, different than the general purpose CPUs that article is mostly focusing on. I would also say that forced is a bit strong. SoCs are a good solution when (1) you have a very spe

I'm in a similar situation to you. I'm skinny and also short. This might explain why I noticed that shirts I found at The Gap seemed to fit better (were smaller) than ones I found at Old Navy.
