One more limitation: a Presidential pardon doesn't affect state laws. If, for instance, Snowden had committed some crime against the state that he was residing in, the President would not forgive it.

The 1996 Atlanta Olympics deliberately built all the athlete housing right next to Georgia Tech's other dorms with exactly this this in mind. Then, in 2007, Georgia Tech had some great new dorms that they would've needed to build

My understanding is that, yes, this would be caught by pinning, which is why Chromium disables pinning for "private" root certificates, which is what it considers the ones that your employer has set up on your computer: http:

I also really enjoy my Subaru EyeSight. I've only run into one terrible experience, and that is when I went into a automated car wash. As soon as the first big scrubby thing approached, the EyeSight flipped out and slammed on the brake

I drive defensively and lived in Boston. I couldn't deal with the mindset of Boston drivers. I moved to Seattle. I am so much happier here. Sometimes drivers cause traffic jams because they spend too much time waving at each other to g

Despite Snopes confirming this, I refuse to admit that it's true. Nethack wouldn't lie to me like that.

This is not the case with Google Cloud Storage. I cannot speak to the other providers. Google Cloud Storage does not limit read or write throughput with the exception of our "Nearline" product (and even Nearline's limiting ca

I love zero knowledge proofs. My professor in college explained the idea in what I thought was an especially clear way: Say that you and a friend are reading a Where's Waldo book, and you want to prove that you have found Waldo, but yo

Gmail does not literally unsend SMTP messages. To give you time to undo, Gmail delays sending the message for a few seconds. So if you don't select "Undo" within the time limit, your message will be sent. How to use: https:

It's certainly true that real websites use many different hostnames, but keep in mind that one of the reasons why (apart from ad networks and such) is to help pages load faster over HTTP/1.1. If that factor were removed, it'd

A tangentially related story: Seattle's public school teachers are threatening to strike. One of their demands (in addition to pay and such) is that children get at least 30 minutes of recess per day for elementary school students.

"AAA" doesn't mean "very successful." It is a category for the games with the very highest development and advertising budgets. Minecraft was built and released with near-zero budget and is, therefore, not a AAA gam

Maybe I'm missing something, but this doesn't seem so hard. Every cord must start at some point on the circle and end at some point on the circle. If P is the set of all points on the circle, then the set of all cords is the set o

I seem to recall a very old science fiction story about a future where nobody has to go to school. Instead, they play all day until they come of age, at which point a computer programs their mind with all of the expertise needed for whateve
