I don't want to talk about vaccines anymore. Whatever study people have to cherry pick or whatever beliefs you may hold, whatever your stance is, most people have made the decision on whether or not to be vaccinated. What I wish we foc

I'm more interested in how Jeff manages to maintain 200 open source repos and still have time for all the other extracurricular he does like the graphics card RPi testing he has going on. Please tell me your time management secrets.

Definitely not off topic. I do not use Obsidian but while Obsidian is a knowledge base software, I can absoslutely see the appeal of being able to organize your thoughts and notes into a full-fledged article and then push to something like

The comments in HN threads regarding the vaccines are bizarre. The majority of stances here essentially boil down to "the vaccine is fine" vs "the vaccine is bad."

You're playing with semantics. Someone is selling ownership to something they do not own.

Let's give OpenSea the benefit of doubt and say they don't know their platform is being used to illegally sale things the distributor doesn't own. I see no reason they shouldn't be held to the same copyright rules that Y

OpenSea is a great example of break the law until you get caught and then pay a small fine. They just haven't reached the "get caught" part yet. Putting utter ridiculousness of NFTs aside, a lot of the art on the site is stra

You're showing your age. There was a time when you could ask Netflix for any number of DVDs for almost any movie and have it sent to you.

NFT sites like OpenSea not doing anything to fight stolen art is a massive problem and the artist community has very little recourse.

I'll second this. I'm pretty techno-savvy if I do say so myself but I haven't the slightest when it comes to self-hosting and security concerns also prevent me from doing it.

Going to somewhat hijack this to ask a question. Are there any popular non-Rails uses for Ruby? I'd like to learn Ruby but it seems that Python and Ruby occupy the same space and use cases so you really only need to know one of them.

Watching HN debate unions is always a good time. Blizzard is right, being in a union generally means you can't negotiate for yourself but seeing as the workers are in this position to begin with, negotiating for themselves clearly wasn

Tried Wayland recently on Fedora 35 with an AMD GPU and found that it causes issues with a lot of Proton games that I don't have on X.org. So, Wayland is still a "no thanks" for me.
