I agree partially. I worked w/ youngsters that had talent and motivation to learn. Unfortunately, I saw it less and less in places where I worked.. Hence my comment here.. Industry shifted into weird direction here.. Youngsters are pet

Dont listen to those kids. Ive seen a lot of youngsters coming as Software Engineers. They have no skill, no motivation to learn, they just spend a lot of time in coffe talks and get nice paycheck. If they fail, they are being pet and said:

Oh of course it is. But if you have serveral 100s up to several 1000s items, you do not care. Computers are here to do the heavy lifting. If we talk about millions of items, its completly different story. Probably simple numerical ID is out

Yeah, because we do NOT mirror usefull information. Only crap :) I remember years ago (20 years, even 10 years ago) it was easy to mirror stuff. These days, web pages are loaded w/ JS junk.. Is hard, so I just extract interesting text

Source routing? Can you tell me what you used it for? The only place where source routing is used these days is MPLS-SR aka Segment Routing. The edge router precompute the path and sets all labels. Core routers just pop those labels and swi

This is what they did NOT! Just read IPv6 related RFCs. A lot of differences. If they did that in 1997, we would probably be on IPv6 long time ago...

I kinda agree with the arcticle. Here is my ideal IPv6: http://borg.uu3.net/~borg/?ipv6 It basically means, you grab IPv4 implementation, extend address space to 64bit, call it IPv6, vioala. Problem solved. IPv4 was ba

Its very simple. REDUCE the FUCKING SCALE. Until you educate yourself about action and consequences of that action. Examples are very simple: Everyone bitch about CO2 problem. Oh noes, we produce it so much, planet cannot absorb it... BINGO

Not to mention this is kinda yet another hidden local version :) I have a habbit to do git add -u when stuff I work on is in good state and I am about to try something more risky. I just stage the stuff, and keep hacking. If I fuck it up..

3kW output? I think you mean 5MW output... large electric locomotives are in 2.5 to 3.5MW continuos power. Some diesel-electric huge ones are even larger, like 5MW.

Thats absolutly dumb comparision. Horse vs Car is type correct comparision. We are compaing transportation helper "device". So, its helper, aka amplifier if our skill. Without horse we can manage to pull only 200kg, with it we can

Heh, it wasnt really dishonest. Sure you can cram more in 16bit, but they had product to ship (game). Also, even on 386DX40 game was barelly playable. I had to shrink screen on larger maps to get better frame rate. It worked much better on

We would live probably 30% shorter. More self healing, more replication, more offset in DNA means you reach eldery quicker. Every replication event contain tiny chance of mutation as well.

Exacly. Additionaly, you can sell software and include a year support bundle. If you want to have longer support (or extend support), you have to play extra (pear year). That sounds reasonable.

The question is, where that limit comes from.. It sounds weird. 40bit file size record? like why? I recently was fixing my own tool here and had to shufle some fields. I settled up at 48bit file sizes, so 256TB for single file. Should be en
