Yeah, thats the problem as well. Pretty shitty employment flexibility. Part time worker? Nah, we will take someone who will work fulltime for us. Remote job? Hmmm Ill take one who will sit in office. Freelancing is indeed solution for that.

When I see such code I chukle... Really? I always try to make my code as flat as possible, either using next or break (or split to function and use return). Thats why I sometimes miss goto. But case can emulate it pretty fine.

Yeah, my setup too, XFS + mdadm (+ eventually LVM2). Rock solid. It might not have HW raid performance, but in terms of stability, flexibility and recovery its absolutly unbeatable!

Its not that easy. Yeah, they are, but there is a lot of POSIX like glue inside so they work correctly with select() and other alarms. Code is very complicated. But still, kudos for Cygwin Developers for creating Cygwin :) Great work, even

No, I have no reason to use it. I have piles of my own programs, notes, docs. If I need to do sth, I can refer to those. In worst case, I have to use search engine to grab info with is immediatly mirrored. If it works for you, thats great.
