I haven't seen many of this posts here in HN. And when there IS one, it can always be flagged into oblivion. But I share your pain. Second class citizenship is an abomination.

She was clearly trying to upset the viewers and nothing more. If this isn't evidence for the Westboro-is-just-here-to-sue-anyone theory, I don't know what could be. What can be done in a situation like this? Legally, they seem to be using a

It works well for 99% of the time, but when it doesn't, this design decisions make the experience frustrating. I'm-going-to-write-a-blog-post-and-boycott-this-thing frustrating. And if the description is not clear (as in the Rdio example),

If this is all automated as they claim, that's a hell of a good job. Poster, length, rating, credits, synopsis and trailer, everything one could ask for. And then they throw a full-sized screencap as the page background. Brilliant.

The author said he ripped the same number of commits from each language, so it's naturally normalized. The number of different projects ripped, on the other hand, could help skew the results of the unpopular languages.

I still can't understand why they added the "feature" in first place. Sure, automatic execution of setups and the like is very convenient, but even a small "are you sure you want to run this" dialog would have closed the security hole most

Dwarf Fortress. By far the most complex game I've ever played, and yet the interface was simple. The dozen-items menu you see on screen is just a block of text telling you the hotkeys. Nothing to click, push or drag, no focus to worry about

Now that you mentioned, I don't remember a single instance of a person speaking in my dreams. But I can't figure out if it was just a lack of language as general or if people communicated telepathically. Either way... that's unsettling.

I think the issue is similar with bilingual people. Since I started speaking English, my thoughts regularly switch from one language to another, especially when I can't remember the word I want in that language. It's also a great exercise d

"Get bent", "This website is not yours anymore", "Deal with it"... Frankly, I think a little "this website is offline because they didn't pay their bills" would be enough, given the web designer is being honest about the whole situation.
