I think there's two main problems here at play: excessive criticism and discouragement. I actually like the first one, and most hackers I know do too. I've seen geeks take (possibly harsh) critics very well, way better than "normal" people.

I didn't mean to talk using the lightnings, just to make a background sound. Maybe map to the wave frequency to the speech volume or tone (harder). It would still be sine waves, but sounding slightly different based on the microphone.

Audio? What if instead of kinect, we used a microphone ? Maybe voice activated lightnings or a continuous electrical background for your phrases. A whole new meaning for "thundering voice".

True. But I still think it's appropriate because a) when talking about 4chan people don't think of the sane boards and b) the crazy boards hold a great chunk of the traffic (majority?), even if they are outnumbered (not that you need many o

Opera displays a Blank Page, Chrome attempts to play the video with no controls and Firefox tries do download the mp4 file. What on earth is going on here? EDIT: it was just taking too damn long. Could be my connection, though.

It took me a split second to realize why you weren't citing the source. So this phrase was just adapted into the book? I'm starting to fear you.

An original hack with great (if very geeky) humor. I'm much more interested in Kinect's application in this sort of stuff than in video games. Extra points for tesla coils, too.

I didn't know Google had this service. I found it brilliant. Interesting how the banner is black and white instead of the usual colorful logo.

My username is, AFAIK, unique. Being able to recognize the same person can be extremely useful if you build things on different places. I think the trick is detaching it from your real life. If you are using the same username, don't list yo

Now we will have a great environment to work with when HTML5 gets solid acceptance. Can we stop with the silly demos, people complaining "it doesn't work on my browser!" and articles on how a couple of tags would kill Flash? I for one can't

Funny how it's a non-problem for some other languages, like Portuguese. While English allows you to naturally create whole sentences using one-syllable words, it's horribly hard to even put two one-syllable words side-by-side in Portugues

What baffles me that we are trying to convince programmers to support Unicode while many programs and websites won't even accept special symbols. In passwords. I mean, how dumb does the system have to be to reject the @ char in the password
