Do you think third party vendors don’t charge for R&D?

I’d be more concerned about other stuff, which a vpn doesn’t solve. Look up SMB relay attacks, netbios, and Responder. An average win10 laptop will disclose creds to anyone

I doubt vaccines will be provided to low risk groups for some time, even if they are actively distributing the vaccine by December.

How did you come to this conclusion? I’ve been curious about it for some time but haven’t seen anything concrete which could explain this at a level I understand.

If your mobile uses a dynamic IP the pool will be shared by others. In my country at least, Logs of client details to DHCP assigned IPs is Legally required. Private torrents do not show up because I know what you download relies on DHT broa

Iirc SCP supports resuming transfers. Granted torrent architecture is very robust, but I’ve never had a problem with the way scp resumes work.

I daresay an iPhone, after R&D costs to Apple and third parties, probably costs less than $100 in materials.

That really depends on your threat model, are Apple and google going to use marketing data against you? Probably. Are they going to plant malware which steals your banking details? Probably less likely than a random binary package you found

This seems like a pretty weak argument, are you sure you want to trust a bunch of hobbiest devs with the security of your (probably) most valuable computer? Just because something doesn’t have any know issues, doesn’t mean it’s not wise to

Yeah but that doesn’t teach much about core components in real systems, such as systemd, the init process, how dependencies work etc. I’m not saying you won’t learn, but I learnt a heap by avoiding systemd using gentoo. I eventually gave in

Sure, but that gets complicated when comparing two matching hands (flush vs flush, 2 pair vs 2pair). It’s more than a 50 line problem to solve.

Once this is all over I would love to see what kind of metrics you have of hits per minute average vs HN, I’m super curious how much traffic sites get from here. Good luck with the remediations :)

I doubt it’s supposed to, it’s to calculate who wins when writing your own poker implementation. I am not the author, but calculating the winner is non trivial.

That’s relatively straight forward by calculating the entire game tree for pretty much any street after the flop (52-7)*(52-8) combos. The flop requires slightly more power to execute, but many tools do this in a small amount of time so I g

I’ve never figured out if it’s possible to stream to anything that’s not a chromecast, e.g pc -> phone, or phone -> pc. Are these possible using ‘cast’ technologies available in iOS and Android?

Hashcat has far better performance, unsure if jtr supports ‘rules’ (eg add ‘1!’ Suffix to each word - bashcat has many rules like this). Hashcat is a pita for quick jobs so JTR is better if you’re teaching a class of unequipped students. I’
