The solid axle turning without slippage from that video works for regular inter-city rail. I think it doesn't work for rails with the tighter turning radii often required of inner city trams and similar rail transport.

I was confused at first too because I tabbed out and came back to it. You need to scroll down to the `Newbase` Section. It's apparently both the repo for some kind of cli framework and for the rebase tool.

Yep, for types that's a new operator. It is also a binary operator for xor, for values. But no unary use from what I remember. They call it "reflection operator" in the paper. It was previously used by Microsoft for their C++&

Having some form of coroutines or green threads seems like a good idea to me for something low-level. Otherwise countless projects that need something like it will re-implent their own incompable version with longjmp or similar means.

Why is it combining back-tick with the previous letter in a ligature with almost all letters? Into a single character wide element it seems. So looking at a Markdown file with "a`" will print it as "à" always even with

Fully agree with #embed. I don't really need the feature often enough to justify it. But it feels fine to use the preprocessor for it. It's annoying enough for the people who need it to have some build-system work-around, so just

Hm. I don't know if I'd consider atmosphere part of the genre. But it's missing boss fights which are a pretty core part of the genre I think. Which other NES or SNES games take place on one continuous map that you backtrack

The metroidvania inspirations are pretty clear, it's a large map that you unlock gradually by finding abilities on the map. Including some back-tracking. What do you think is missing for it to be called a metroidvania?

oh, I didn't see that byteswap wasn't in there. I googled the "stdc_" part and saw a paper that included byteswap. I guess that was an older draft. Damn, so close. Well I hope it's included next time.

I'm just happy that both C and C++ now have bit stuff like byteswap, popcount, rolr, etc. It was a bit silly that stuff like that wasn't in either standard until this recently.

Oh, looks neat. I've been looking for a cross-platform hex editor for simple editing (wxmedit kind of sucks on macos and had issues for a while now). This seems to have some very powerful features, but sadly doesn't support trivia

The DIY desktop gaming tower market has got to be pretty small by now. Margins on pre-builds have been shrinking to almost nothing, I build my own PCs because I see it as a hobby, but I could hardly recommend it nowadays to someone who'

Numbers are still significantly higher than Winter 2020/21. So with lessening restrictions this winter is poised to set another record (for infections at least, deaths might not be as high as last year). People don't care, true. B

To the point of complexity, the allocation makes the container unfit for over-aligned types. But honestly I don't even know if STL containers are over-alignment aware. So instead of (T*)malloc(sizeof(T) * capacity_); it should b
