Can someone give a good use case for these that can't be easily solved with existing tools? I'm really struggling to find a good example. I seem to have this problem for a lot of new stuff introduced into Javascript...

Thanks for recommending Robin's other articles! I've never seen them before and they look fantastic. I was sold as soon as I saw this paragraph near the start of the Redux vs MobX article: "Everyone wants to have state manage

Interesting, if the price rises do you pass that on to the customer too or do you take the hit?

What about them? As a front-end develop I don't know or care about them until they solve a problem I have with the existing toolset. I couldn't care less whether there's one alternative to React/Angular or a thousand.

Of course. People need to spend more time shooting down stupid ideas on their own side of the political spectrum. Otherwise you just generate more low hanging fruit for your opposition to pick, and allow them to ignore actual good arguments

> Inline styles feel wrong Care to elaborate? I've been using in-line styles in multiple production projects and to me it feels like the way styling was meant to be done all along. The purpose of React is to be able to define your U

I feel like it's in the best interest of the employer to leave the choice of tools fairly open and see what the potential employee elects to use. For the example given in the article (a basic web application), I'd be very interest

I suspect the intelligence correlation is the other way around to what you're implying. I'm still yet to see any evidence that Soylent or similar products are unhealthy (i.e that it takes more than a good balance of macro and micr

I believe the point is that a sandwich doesn't have the macronutrient ratio most people want and a full range of micronutrients so people don't have to be worried about missing anything important if they decide to eat sandwiches f

I don't know that there's anything quick about Rust. I'd probably be more inclined to use it for the second kind of project you're talking about than the first.

Which is strange, really. I can't speak for every mid-20s guy, but I'd personally be much more interested in seeing a relatively unknown industry veteran get up to talk about something interesting than see hip funny JS talk #38292

IMO a good API for developing AIs is an absolute no-brainer for a strategy game. Especially one like Civ that doesn't focus on multiplayer at all.

I love the concept of UBI as a way to offset jobs lost due to automation, but I have no clue how people think it is supposed to become a replacement for other forms of welfare. In Australia, our welfare system pays around $250/week and

As someone who has never used Angular but is interested in Angular 2, can you give some examples of the framework-y things it provides that React doesn't? Redux is really the only thing I find necessary for what I've developed so

This is the problem I have with all these "easy" setups and boilerplate projects. It doesn't matter how you set up your project, unless you do it wrong, it all comes down to a one liner in the end. All these things do is hide

A good welfare system pretty much solves it. I'm not sure why America is struggling to create one. Here in Australia the government will happily pay you $300 a week until you can find a job. It costs us something like $9.5B per year, w

I played around with a lot of different architectures for my React applications, and eventually ended up with something very close to traditional MVC, with components that are either view components, or controller components, but not both.
