My tips don't even warrant a blogpost. CentOS + KVM then segment the bare metal into VMs to do the services. One machine hosts an nginx I port forward to from the host. Figuring out how to use iptables was the most time consuming bi

I can slash about 4000 of those dollars down to 600 by renting hardware to run those services on. Makes you responsible for your setup but if you are bootstrapping, you can find better first year uses for 3400 dollars I'm sure.

I want to live in a world where I don't need to worry about my information being disclosed by a third party. The world you propose is one where there is a chilling effect on sharing anything with anyone.

Interesting project. I've up till now used Twisted or Tornado (actually swampdragon.net). My choice would be dependent on scalability and performance.

Lovely puzzles. Solved day 5 without resorting to regexes (which was kinda fun). Only gripe I have is that I can't use requests to get at the data.

There must be different statutes to charge under. That cop infringed the civil liberties of the persons who came up in the search at a minimum.

Consumers want their kitten videos. They would only view the dialog as an error message, something to get rid of.

I had the weirdest let-down after an interview this summer. Like the author I thought it had gone fine but something entirely else was going on. The interviewer let me know the reason I was not chosen was that I used agressive micro-expre

I'm glad RMS has a platform. I even agree with the majority of the sentiments expressed. This list is too juvenile for my taste. The corresponding Apple hit-list is more toned down and not so acerbic. Free speech is important but f

It's well worth the effort to get uWSGI running under it's native protocol. Here's a must-read if you use it: http://uwsgi-docs.readthedocs.org/en/latest/ThingsToKnow.htm...

First of all, what is a "bad vm"? Second: smoketests should show if the engine is up and serving requests not under load. Third: you have the fallback of reversing the flow. You will always lose requests. All you can do is mini
