It does say something about Trump when an individual with that pedigree is that vehemently opposed.

I don't know if it's a different experience for people traveling from outside Schengen but the comparison between JFK and Schiphol is stark. Schiphol is friendly in comparison.

This is the sole point of agreement I have with Trump. He might lose because of the other odeous things he is doing.

I like C# but loathe XAML and WPF. I develop an app with rather simple UI. WPF makes hard things easy but easy things hard. I'm moving to Qt.

I'm voting for Amsterdam. My fav conference of the year is Django under the Hood. The Dutch are supernice and the restaurant scene fabulous.

https://www.codingame.com/ is a terrific resource. Also, I've found that if youngsters enjoy (not just able to play, enjoy) https://www.factorio.com/ they are predisposed to solve programming puzzles

That's where the jurisdiction becomes very important. The outcome of USJD vs. Microsoft will dictate how it will be resolved. I'm betting that it will not be overturned on appeal.

This is my analysis as well. The only addition I have is that I find it very unlikely Microsoft will lose on appeal.

If they are using extra-judicial means to get at the data I have no recourse anyways. I will have to store it somewhere and a dedicated attacker will always (eventually) find a vulnerability. The standards I have to implement do not state

If I have a subpoena issued against me for data it doesn't matter where the data resides. Having it stored in the EU insures we use EU courts to litigate the issue.

That would exclude AWS from an awfully large segment of data hungry industries. Operating in the EU AWS has to comply with GDPR for at least the operations they have located in the EU. Frankfurt is safe.

I am actually the Lead Developer at a medical device company making software that manages patient data from EU citizens. Our answer to this is really easy: Do not host anything in the US. We intend to use AWS. Frankfurt will do just fine

Most computer users are not competent enough to use their machine properly (and need stronger AV to protect them). What makes you think they have the technical capability to "vet their AV vendor"?

What do the contracts state? Can you leave without legal consequences? Do you need to call a lawyer to confirm? Is there a union rep you can turn to? The way you describe it the deployment might turn into a tire fire. I'd rather n

It was in the context of the dogs eating cannabis that their owners were careless about so I'm assuming dried and pruned buds.

Read a funny statement in a study the other day. The lethal dose of cannabis for dogs is 3g/kg. Don't know if it translates to humans but if the order of magnitude is about the same then it takes on the order of 300 grams inges

If P=NP is proven than that makes factorization an easy problem (and included in the proof) which would make many algorithms for encryption "trivially broken".
