I would suspect it might have something to do with promoted tweets and things which drive traffic to their twitter/website. These sites are paying for the traffic (which then earns them ad revenue) and seem to be happy with the results

I have to say, never had a problem with Lasership. They actually come up to my door, ring the bell, and move on. Never lost a package or anything like I have with FedEx / UPS. And the USPS stopped ringing my door bell a long time ago.

Ok, what am I not understanding here? If they are only counting a view as over 3 seconds. And then only averaging the those views what is the problem? They tell me 1000 people viewed it (over 3 seconds), and then say the average view time w

Definitely doesn't make sense. I use hangouts constantly. It is my default app for SMS and chatting with family. I like having one consistent thread between different desktop devices, as well as mobile. Yes Slack has replaced it for wo

Despite the use of bad photos to compare the two, I do agree with the sentiment of this post. The Tesla 3 is significantly better looking than any of the possible alternatives in my opinion. The Bolt is just weird looking to me. Sure a hatc

I have been using FreeNAS for a few years now. It has been great for me, both as a backup and a Plex server. I am really excited for 10.0 when it will have docker support instead of the current jails. It will be much better for some random

Perhaps something like this instead? http://hforsten.com/homemade-synthetic-aperture-radar.html It would still give some interesting information.

Reminds me a lot of Afghanistan where I watched a massive multi-story headquarters building be built. Draw downs were starting, and no one was ever going to occupy it, and they knew that before they even broke ground. But it was cheaper for

Have you tried the slack desktop app? It is much better than having to keep a bunch of different tabs open. I find it easier to handle multiple teams that way.

This is pretty awesome. If only there was a way to convince my employer this is the right thing to do. I am around 2% between expense ratio and management fees. Kind of a drag to know something like this is available and not being used...

I have to wonder how many of those civilian deaths prevented police deaths? Obviously we have seen plenty of news about bias and wrongful deaths of civilians, but how many of the rest were life saving defensive uses of deadly force? I don&#

Those are some amazing links. Definitely some inspiration for the future. I could definitely see this getting tied into a system like in the second link, with compost and chickens, and all that.

I was coming here to ask that. If this were in some sort of greenhouse would this be sustainable for years at a time, or is it more designed to be something you start up each spring? Also, may have missed it, but do you plant the seeds righ

Just chiming in with my experience. I have several different servers for personal projects on various OVH properties. So Kimsufi, SoYouStart, and OVH proper. They have all been great. The VPS option at OVH was nice too. 100Mbit connection,

So this is focused on offline editing and sharing? Very cool, though I initially thought it was going to be a p2p torrent style of keeping OSM data synced across the internet.

I am really curious, what would the results be like if this we run on Facebook? Does the poll being ran where it is bias the results. ~34% say privacy, but it that sample bias? Or a real representation of what people as a whole are interest

I have been wondering about the AWS GPU instances. They are something like $2.60 / hour. At what point do they make sense monetarily? You can build a machine like described here for ~$5000 total. Thats not that many hours of AWS time.

The imagery in their demo is coming from Google Maps, but if you look at the copyright you can see what companies it is coming from. The USDA shoots, if I remember correctly, the whole country every 3 years, and that data is public domain.
