Maybe "the internet" was a bit too generic. But it destroyed a lot of tech worker productivity for the day at least. Slack, GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket, Docker, etc all had issues. https://venturebeat.com/2017/0

SUVs can certainly be practical, though a crossover or minivan can do many of those things too. With better fuel efficiency and less weight on the road. Would it actually have a large effect on boat ownership? Something like a Model X (or m

The Sahara has grown something on the order of 10% over the last century [1]. So ~200 million of its 2.2 billion acres are new. Wouldn't we just be restoring the albedo to what it was? [1] https://www.livescience.com/62

Reminds me of when s3 went down in 2017, and took a chunk of the internet with it (to include their own status dashboard) due to someone entering a command wrong. https://aws.amazon.com/message/41926/

Yeah, that's an issue in flake8. There is no stable standard library for something that is supposed to be core to python moving forward. https://gitlab.com/pycqa/flake8/-/issues/428#note_251982786

What happens to the shares of a company that someone buys on this exchange if it is delisted? Do they have to then somehow sell them on another exchange? Wouldn't delisting harm the value of those shares, if they can be sold elsewhere?

Its more a way for the same companies to not have to actually physically install wires / fiber to a residence. It just means people will end up with a single carrier of 5G instead of a single fixed broadband provider. With no additiona

Thanks for the reply, great info. We have definitely been looking at more things like Azure AD. (Or Okta maybe?) for the identity management stuff. Even AWS has one I think, but seems worse than other offerings. It is an interesting idea to

That is what I had read or heard at some point. The majority of their business was in the holiday season, and needed several multiples of servers to handle it. So in say May, 80% of the machines were sitting basically idle. So why not rent

The majority of Amazon profit (not revenue) is from AWS. And AWS started because they already had the servers for holiday surge capacity. Was extremely lucrative, so they invested more in it. Maybe in the first years there was a loss there.

Worth noting that Oracle sued on your first point, and the courts did not agree that there was any actual issues with the RFP. [1] Also worth noting that their argument is that the President illegally interfered in the bidding process. And

Yes. If two proposals both of the same exact technical level and Amazon was a cheaper price, then the government is supposed to go with the one that saves the taxpayer money. The government should provide detailed evidence to the taxpayers

Sole sourcing requires very strict guidelines though. You have to justify why that specific vendor is the exclusive one that can meet your needs and that the end result of the bid process would end up leading to them. A sole source contract

I did not mean to imply that GovCloud was a contract. I though it was the exclusive provider of isolated cloud services. I didn't realize Azure had its Government region. Glad that exists, I want to see that competition. However FedRAM

That is definitely part of the problem, they should have forced a multi cloud solution. Bring at least two vendors in, and make them compete and keep eachother honest. Either way, you need to keep the around for years, so you have time to g
