You might say the problem CloudFlare is causing is lesser than the ones it's solving, but you can't say they're not causing a new, separate problem. That they're trying counts for brownie points, it's not an excus

This is pretty interesting to me, as I do use Grafana in my current role. But none of their other products, and not their helm chart (we're on the Bitnami chart if that's a thing). So far it's pretty good. We're at least

Isn't the whole problem that it's nigh-impossible to isolate context from input?

That was well-written, though the analogy is immediately obvious but that's on purpose. Is it then a parody of allegory? Pretty entertaining all the same. I've thought about this problem, though I'm currently employed I'

My god the amount of projection in your comment. It seems you've mistaken me for everyone who ever commented in favor of migrating off of Excel. I"m aware that there are things I'm unaware of. Perhaps I don't know how to

It's crazy to me how because 1% of Excel users need pivot tables or something we're all stuck on it. LibreOffice is enough for the vast majority of use cases.

As much as I'm a diehard Linux defender, Gnome can get bent. XFCE does everything I want, which is to say, almost nothing.

What do you mean by "next"? Evolution doesn't have a plan. It'd be more adapted for some things and less for others.

Do you not see the contradiction in what you're saying? "LLMs will replace us all... I can't find a use for LLMs". Get to replacing us already. It's a gold rush, someone needs to get rich selling shovels.

I've been part of a few (Canadian) cooperatives. The incentive structure is completely different, it's akin to admitting you prefer great working conditions than having a chance to chance it rich. If a company is startup-sized, an

I remember seeing an uptick in HN job posts, of which a large percentage (30%?) were AI startups. Now, will they still be there in 5 years? 10? Who can say. But technically, right now, they are jobs.

I'm assuming you're talking about "at-will" states, coming from Canada I've heard there are also sane states. And even some at-will states have powerful unions no doubt.
