'Labor market' is a purely American concept. You shouldn't be switching jobs constantly and relocating. It takes a toll on personal life and makes no sense anyway.

We're not programming like Turing award winners. We're not treating software as the science to make a product but as the mechanics to put it together and patch it. We should be less original and try to copy mathematics - their the

I'm summing up the whole repos, everything that was ever written for those languages. Everything that could have gone elsewhere. This path is not constructive. Maybe instead of trying to be original, we can learn from mathematics where

If developers treat dating like they do programming languages, no wonder there's a demographic crisis. Clang tidy[0] contains 67032 LOC from my calculations. Rust, Zig, whatever comprise millions LOC. Imagine if 1/10 was contribut

How does it increase GDP? If people aren't having kids because the living conditions are shit, or the kids they had emigrated for better opportunities, then having kids was a net waste.

Yes and it's the natural extension of modern lifestyle. The invariant is that for as long as there's kids, they are taken care of, and it still holds true for "jungles". How many humans do you even need?

It's ironic you should call anything UNIX baggage since that whole website is a few kilobytes and renders instantly. As opposed to any 5MB JS-filled flaming cistern of a site a modern developer would make.

Because you don't need to ask questions. Models like Lotka-Volterra were first proposed before WW1. The math is clear, you can't have infinite growth. Our population is not at an equilibrium because we fully depend on industrialis

How do people manage to read modern science with a straight face? Is there anything more scientific - verifiable and reproducible - than our ancestral family tree relying on meats and saturated fats to live?

Nothing works that way. My desktop, laptop, router, and phone were flashed with FOSS before the EULA popped up. Sadly, you can't flash working, simple software on RED cameras.

There's no such thing as 'individual responsibility' with minors. The world they're born in is the world we make. Do cigarette companies help us get closer or farther from a ideal world?

The Internet is a paradox. It only seems rich, but most information is regurgitated or a lossy simplification of its source. If you count the good articles divided by the total number of articles, the classical probability of the web's

Any device that can build its own kernel is a good SWE device. However, I'd recommend a DELL or Samsung with a high-res OLED display. Those are gorgeous and have great color and luminance contrast for text.
