IMO, if you end up in that situation, you need to invest more effort into figuring out a good solution from the library perspective & maybe even be willing to spend the time to implement it - that is the only way you can effect positive

I have learned to detach myself some from open source, as some users are always going to be terrible, and IMO, more people should make an honest effort to contribute back to open source. If one gets too invested, it becomes too easy for neg

Firefox isn't great either - I'm locked into an older version until Sauce Labs supports geckodriver because Mozilla made an awful breaking change in 47 to switch to a beta driver for Webdriver support, which prevents us from testi

There is some movement to support universal JavaScript apps, i.e. render first hit with the server and serve the same JS code for the client to just fetch data for any page navigation after - both Angular and React support this. That said,

If I had to guess, the recommendation is due to that there are simply more jobs around React and Angular out there. There is a practical bent to the lists in the article.

This is why I like when people contribute to major open source projects - chances are good they will be exposed to some of these hard problems, which can help them solve future ones.

Got numbers? I know someone who was able to get a simple app down to below 30kb including polyfills (albeit with a lot of work using Google Closure), and from what I understand that was before AoT compilation was there. Much of the core is

The point the person was making is that "a implies b" is quite different from "b implies a" - the converse of a statement is a different statement. Not all hard working people are successful, but all successful people ar

In general, even if you don't like some things about projects, it's worthwhile investing time to see if you can learn from it for down the road. I'm an expert in the Angular ecosystem, but I experiment with other frameworks t

I noticed this in the past two weeks - as a result, if I use Uber, I toggle it on, and afterwards I turn it off. This is pretty crappy, I don't need an app punishing my battery by default just so they can collect more data. It really m

Creating a universal JS app on the web has some extra cons too - not only is the code run on the server, but also a not insignificant JS payload is downloaded & executed on the client, as well as increased app complexity in order to mai
