But people will only buy it if publishers publish for it. And while I don't know the details of a Steam box, assuming a x64 config, you won't be able to really undercut Dell or HP. So why buy a Steam box if you can get a WIndows PC which al

Yes, I pointed to that, the thing is, people won't switch to linux because of that. I know Linux guys always want to say 'X is going to be the reason Linux will be adopted' but the thing is, it won't. Outside tech circles, and what I call t

There is one thing that is important here. Valve/Steam, even if they have a linux client, are at the hand of Microsoft/Apple. I think the reason they are moving to Linux is to see if they can get out of that stranglehold but I doubt it. The

Can't really speak much as never been through bootcamp myself, but 3 doesn't sit well with me. There is a reason you should put your mask on a place before putting it on your 'neighbour' This is also drilled to paramedics/policemen/firemen

I don't use the menu much so I tend to use the trackpad for that. You could also try KeyCue [ http://www.ergonis.com/products/keycue/ ]. You press the Command key for a while and all the options are shown in a popup.

For some reason, testing graduates a lot of designers. What I found in various game companies is that game designers usually graduate from other positions in the company and rarely hired as designers from the start.

It's quite common in these parts to be honest to piss on .net/Java 'enterprise' code. Many of the folks here haven't seen what kind of systems banks and other big companies work with, so they have this little start-uppy world view with test

And rails security is why the whole rails stack sucks balls. the sad part is that they actually think it's good to be agile on something critical See, easy to over generalise. Edit: And amazingly just 12 minutes ago: https://news.ycombina

What is for you 'medicine proper'? Do you mean it has been tested and found to work, even if it has nothing to do with medicine (some herbal supplement or meditation) or just medical approved/ordered? I don't buy into much of the alt-med ar

Situation isn't much better here in Portugal, but it is slightly better. Why not jump over the ocean? Average for a developer is around 1000-1200 EUR/month. If you are good and have a good track record 1500-2000 EUR. It isn't much after tax
