Most sites enforce TLS 1.2 nowadays, and it's likely that the root certificates are expired, or the browser only supports up to TLS 1.0. Opera Mini is proxying stuff, so they would likely work.

I used Firebug even after Firefox added devtools and Firebug stopped it's development. It truly shows how powerful XPI add-ons really were. I still stick with Firefox and the dev tools are quite good, and features like flexbox and don&

This is the same arguments for DNS based TLS certificates, and here we are, with good HTTPS connections that we can trust albeit the awful CA system.

I do this for about 10 years now too! It's very convenient to "expire" the email addresses that are sold off. Another thing I do is to use a spam@domain.com email when an annoying site tries to force me to login. All emails t

I have yet to find a walkable city in Indonesia, let alone South Asia that is actually walkable in comparison to European cities, like Amsterdam or Berlin. There is a major difference in population between those two though. Istanbul has a s

I surely miss the developer/tech atmosphere that was there in Berlin, Frankfurt, etc. The life is quite simple, and the coffee culture is based around chatting with friends for hours, instead of sitting in a cafe and getting work done

Internet I general seems to be pretty bad here in Hanoi. I do not really work with bigger images (~100mb alpine images tops), and it takes ~5-10 minutes in evenings which appears to be the peak time on my current VNPT 40mbps line.

I recently moved to Vietnam, and I sometimes get awfully slow connection speeds to the mirrors nearby my city, to a point that switching to US mirrors is faster. (ftp.[kr|sg].debian.org)

The article is saying it's just an option. Don't bother. If you use a sufficient salt, and a decent hashing algorithm (bcrypt/argon2id), cracking those passwords are impractical for the attacker. If they can do this extremely

Inheritance is slowly fading away in favor of composition. Drupal is an absolute abomination when it comes to extending classes, as in 5-6 in the chain is not uncommon. However, Drupal was never called for its high modern code quality eithe

Yes. In most of the services I have one, organic users are converted to free customers, and _then_ turn into paying customers. You need a memorable and easy to type domain for that.

Yep, this is why I didn't bother to buy either. It's $5 for something that you use daily, but I'm not going to change everything to @hey.com. No feature is worth the hassle of getting everyone to update my email address.

You can use preconneft tags to make the browser preconneft to the likely source of the images. This usually gives a pretty big boost in speed because browsers will have already connected (DNS + TLS handshake) to the icon source's CDN.

It's possible that someone obtained a password dump and are trying to see if it works on your email account. Check yourself on Have I Been Pwned, and if you see your information have been breached, reset all your passwords.
