Studies show people who love learning and find many things of interest correlate with high intelligence.

That is because the OP is void of intellectual curiosity. The conversations are shallow because he is not asking interesting questions about their life, career, ambitions, and goals.

This is the opposite of intelligence. Intelligent people find a lot of things interesting and love learning. An intelligent person will find any profession or hobby interesting, and thus everyone is interesting. Saying everyone is a bore is

Solving the equation is not intelligence, it’s education. There’s a huge difference. You are not smart because you can solve the equation. Someone showed you how to solve it.

This needs to be the top comment. The OP is ONLY interested in a subset of topics he feels is interesting. This is the opposite of intelligent. A hallmark of intelligent people is to find fascination with everything. I recently went to a pa

Yes but don’t you find that interesting? I find people who have no hobbies or passion so different from myself, in a way I enjoy talking to them.

That is crazy. I spent 20 minutes trying to cancel the WSJ. It is infuriating.

I use Privacy.com and generate virtual credit card numbers. I cancel the credit card at the time of canceling the service (or at least trying to cancel the service).

I just canceled the WSJ. It is not terrible. They will try and convince you to cancel but will eventually let you cancel. The worst is SirriusXM Radio.

Too complicated. I would make a rule that any Bachelors program costing more than 15k is ineligible for student loans. Magically those $60k programs will fall to $15k. The reason college is so expensive is because that is what people are wi

Why are we getting our science news from the liberal arts majors on the other side of campus? The problem is they really do not understand science. They believe everything is concrete and don’t understand the nuances.

My experience is the opposite. I get the “I don’t work in this dept. I’ll call someone”. Then I wait in plumbing for 10 minutes until someone shows up. When the person shows they start looking in the same place I have been searching for the

I would disagree the cloud is more expensive. Yes you can purchase a server from Dell with a 5 year life expectancy for less than renting from AWS. But that is not the true cost. Enterprises require high availability and disaster recovery.

Every time I hear of developer shortages the next sentence involves increasing the H-1B visa pool. I’m now in upper management. I’m told I can hire as many Indian developers as I want (based in India) but must limit my US development team.

Why do you need to own Bitcoin for transactions? Someone wants to buy a 50k car. They give you 50k worth of Bitcoin. You immediately sell the Bitcoin for 50k of dollars. At no time did you need to own Bitcoin before the transaction.
