It takes a while for Vitamin D levels to raise or lower as it’s stored in fat.

I’ve never bought the argument that the flu season is caused by people being indoors more (and then contracting or spreading a virus). Most people are still going to their jobs just as much, which is probably where they’d get it anyways. Sc

You can get a vial of generic insulin at Walmart for 20 bucks or so. This treatment would go generic as well and then become affordable to the masses. Even before then a company would rather get $200 a month from a large group of people tha

It probably doesn’t apply to those struggling with hunger, but just because people don’t have savings doesn’t mean they don’t have expendable income. It could just as easily mean they prioritized stuff over savings, and I bet that’s the cas

Most people out there have “essential” jobs and can’t work from home. How could they not still catch it? All it takes is one eye rub, forgetting to sanitize your hands before you eat, etc.

At least as a self employed person, unemployment seems...tenuous. And confusing. I’m a photographer. The website says I’m supposed to report income the week I work, not when I actually receive payment. If someone gives me a deposit for a we

My parents own a small apartment building in a rural area - about 10 units. They’re there several times a week, and when someone moves out it can be days of work. Not to mention paperwork, collecting, occasionally needing to go to court, et

I have an OCD-like tendency where I absolutely cannot stand being greasy. I’ve yet to find a sunscreen that I can handle being on, especially in my face. As a wedding photographer that’s a bit of a problem - some days I’m out in the blazing

I’ll counterargue and say that the side that interprets the constitution as a “living document” instead of what’s actually written is by far more political in their rulings for that reason alone.

My school was 30,000 a year, and my wife’s state school was definitely less than 10k a year. There’s a really wide variance.

Just 40 years ago it was pretty rare for someone to go to college, so I don’t think you can blame a shift away from humanities on that.

In a good year the flu vaccine is 50% effective, and that’s pretty rare (though getting better). That’s not enough for herd immunity, and flu viruses mutate enough where we also don’t get it from naturally formed antibodies.

Also, during the H1N1 scare a vaccine used in Europe caused some people to develop narcolepsy (though perhaps more would have gotten it from the virus itself without a vaccine). It can be hard to determine that something is “safe” quickly.

It can be quite small, but I believe it largely depends on the ISO rating of the film. Larger grain = more light collected. I shoot wetplate collodion sometimes and that has an effective ISO of under 2 and the detail is astounding - especia

Your common high end DSLR definitely outresolves 35mm film nowadays, especially at higher ISOs. It’s not a 1:1 comparison, but film does have grain and that grain size is the “limit” of the data. That said medium format film and larger woul

As far as I’m aware there isn’t really any equipment that’ll help with kickback, other than a built in kickback bar. A full face shield might help, I suppose. My dad had a coworker that had a kickback accident on the job. It apparently cut

That’s debatable. The Art line is really good from a technical perspective, but some people feel they don’t have “soul.” I think a bigger problem is that they have no concern for weight. For instance, their 105mm 1.4 is over 3 and a half p
