Holy hell. This take is so arrogant it’s incredible. Get out of your city bubble sometime. I live in a rural area (the nearest town has a population of ~500) and use Starlink. I’m a photographer/software developer. My wife is a financ

There are many people in this country that will buy a 2 year old used car for just a few thousand under the new price because the majority of their lives they’ve been told buying new is a waste of money. My friend’s in-laws are like that a

For me, it was simply how it was incredibly alien and incredibly familiar at the same time. Everything was different, but if you’re at all a nerd (and you’re on HN so…) you’ve been exposed to Japanese culture. That and it was all so friend

Eh, more: That’s infringement. Question mark? The images aren’t exact copies, though they’re obviously really close. Considering those are all famous stills from the movies I kind of doubt they actually just took random scenes from the movi

I'd argue that a vaccine that allowed the virus to evolve rapidly out of it because it's only targeting on small section of the virus is pretty crappy by definition. Don't get me wrong, it saved a lot of lives. Compared to e

Well that’s just plain revisionist history. Name another example. The flu vaccine, maybe? But that’s because they don’t know which strains to target. Both the CDC director at the time and Biden said the vaccine would prevent you from getti

They no longer do it as a default, but they absolutely still do it with some couples. IVF is expensive, and miscarriages or lack of implantation is devastating.

Even if it wasn’t IVF they may have done other fertility increasing treatments, such as using Clomid and then possibly doing IUI.

When does that come? I’m the father of a (very) active 2 year old with another on the way. “Come on daddy, let’s play” is a refrain I hear probably 50 times a day.

Maybe not in urban places, but it absolutely makes no sense that it's not legal in my rural area to bike down (some) trails/sidewalks that run along roads. Usually if you bike down them it's rare to see another person even o

When visiting Europe I've literally had to get up and find my waitress after not seeing her for 40+ minutes. I'll take tip culture any day...in sit down restaurants, at least.

As long as the population is growing, if your business isn’t you’re effectively shrinking. Plus image of Megablocks did Harry Potter, Star Wars, etc. They’d overtake Lego in a minute.

My 2 year old daughter hasn’t really shown any interest either. It’s weird, as a kid I wasn’t really into building stuff. Lego, wood blocks, etc. The only exception was “forts” in my woods. I could play with my Power Rangers toys for hours

Sure From experience they try to pay far below market rate, so then people challenge it (possibly in court?). This delays things, adds expense, etc.
