If it’s any consolation, Rebase.co, a service that advises folks on moving to Portugal to take advantage of the NHR program, has been discouraging non-EEU citizens from doing this for a couple of months, citing https://www.linked

Some of this may be association with recent violence in addition to shifting towards greener pastures. The Challenger is a fun car to drive, but anecdotally, I know quite a few folks that can’t see one without envisioning it plowing through

Join a smaller company that’s writing greenfield code. There’s still legacy stuff to deal with there, too, but the proportions will be more favorable. The adage “legacy code is anything committed to trunk” is informative; larger, longer-liv

Nanometer process indicators long ago became more marketing than reality. I was hoping (irrationally, it seems) that when we got down past integer nm readings we’d just let the terminology float, and go to version numbers or something. Alas

The city of Cambridge, Massachusetts wouldn't be a bad place to start. Eternal September and all that, but it's still home to lots of schools and academics, and the shitty weather deters people that aren't there on purpose.

Nuance! You can do better than black and white, good/bad binary decisions. I totally care about those other factors. And I am acutely aware of the effect that physical abuse has on real, actual people. It's unavoidable that this w

Also, worth noting: most insurers and health networks pay somewhat poorly & have a ton of overhead around filing and notes for claims. As a result, many independent clinicians just don't accept insurance; many will set aside some c
