To be fair, that sounds like a problem with your infra. There are plenty of enterprises running Postgres in Docker/Kubernetes successfully. A lot of technical problems are not the stack or the engineer's capability, but the compan

Nowadays there's a ton of idling compute capacity running client side that could be used to spin up a personal cloud environment with all core services if one has the proper knowledge. For anyone that has a core to spare and a few GB&#

In hindsight, what we don't know is if the people who grinded 50 hours a week would have ended up in a stable situation later in life where they felt confident enough and had the means to take things at their own pace. Regardless, ever

What would happen if you configured manual network and gave it a fake DNS or sent it over to PiHole for example? Wouldnt there be plenty of ways to capture the traffic and stop it from going where it wants to go? I would think the tech savv

Disconnect the TV from wifi and enable GameMode to bypass most of the post processing. Disable HDR on the OS. On some TV models, there is an additional trick to rename the input port to "PC" and it reduces input lag even more. Use

Agreed. Tons of obsolete assumptions in this thread. We have been using Podman / OpenShift in production and never ran into a use case where Docker was needed.

I'm personally interested in Unikernels. That tech seems to be a good contender for replacing K8s. Every app an appliance running in a hypervisor.

OP is likely making assumptions on obsolete knowledge. Tech moves really fast which means the knowledge we gained last week might no longer be relevant. Here is an article showing it is perfectly acceptable to deploy Postgres in Kubernetes:

There are other container build tools such as Kaniko that have solved the reproducible builds issue right? If we're operating at scale, it probably means we are using some flavor of Kubernetes and the Docker runtime is no longer releva

I think what is uncommon in this scenario is that some people have a greater aptitude to express what they visualize. To communicate what is in their mind. To convert what is abstract thought into some form of communication. We all visualiz

The simple solution is to provision a VM with your browser of choice and take a snapshot of it. Every time you use it, restore to the "vanilla" snapshot to revert its state.
