Another preachy diet article? Oh joy. I read a journal article saying the opposite to this one, just 2 weeks ago; how it's not how much you eat, but what you eat and when (protein and fats in the morning, carbs in the evening - which f

I do the same, but set aside 2 hours every weekend to go back and review all the links I saved that week. Important ones, I do a write up summary of the content and it goes in my notes for future reference. Non-important ones get archived.

Interesting timing for this post - I'm studying this for a new job at the moment and building myself my own little Wikipedia in order to learn it. 10BASE uses Manchester Encoding, 100BASE uses Non-Return-to-Zero, Invert-on-one (NRZI) e

This is one of those business ideas that I must have had around the same time, but never pursued because I was studying; figured engineering would make me more more than selling mushroom growing kits and spores ever would. I had a large set

In my work team everyone universally calls a product getting axed "getting Googled", and there's no confusion on meaning. I suspect as Google loses market share to other search engines over the next few decades, we'll st

From my experience, yes. I did about an hour a day total - 20 minutes on waking, 20 minutes at lunch, and 20 minutes before I go to sleep. 3 years ago, I didn't know a lick of Spanish. Now when I go, I can be a translator for my friend

This makes for a great writing prompt. In some ways, you're describing the Warhammer 40k universe. The people of that world don't necessarily "reject" technology, but any understanding of it is lost, and things are maint

Certain crimes exempt you from UK the Rehabilitation of Offenders act, so would come up in a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Rape and pedophilia convictions would be in those exemptions as far as I know, although I am no legal e

That's sort of my point. It's something I've noticed in articles in the past year or so. This ballet around sticking to their free market principles, while also distancing themselves from discussing the matter when it fails.
