It can be if one wants to. For example river has its own protocol for letting clients arbitrarily position windows. There's a builtin one that does tiling, and then a bunch of user-created ones at https://codeberg.org/r

Yes, that won't happen here, because the host is just calling some global malloc and free exported by the module. Well, obviously the implementations of those globals can be buggy in some way, but that's the module's bad.

Browsers don't have any built-in support for WASI. It's up to the web page to define those as exports for WASI-expecting WASM modules to import.

Components are basically COM / CORBA for WASM. Just like COM enabled multiple languages to exchange structs and function calls with each other, WASM components do the same. The C ABI approach works fine but becomes complicated when you

Apparently I'm illiterate. Indeed, not only is the Mac Mini a desktop, but also the author says in that same paragraph how they did in fact upgrade its RAM once in the past.

It's the default, but TFA might've masked it since they're dealing with an old laptop where they can upgrade the drive but not the RAM.

Users should ideally report bugs to their distribution, not to upstream. The distribution package maintainer then does triage to determine if the issue is specific to the distribution package or should be forwarded upstream. That's how

As in it hangs when you launch it, not that it launches successfully but then hangs when you press the Record button? Probably a more fundamental windowing problem than the screencasting interface interaction then.

I haven't tried it, but looking at the code, it talks to xdp to setup the screencast session and then gstreamer with the pipewiresrc to record it. It should work on any compositor with an xdp implementation that supports the Screencast

Technically `sudo -u` can switch to any user on the system while only a limited few would be allowed as ssh targets. Even root might not be allowed as an ssh target if `PermitRootLogin` is set to `no`, which I do on all my systems.
