Ever had a close look at it? It is pretty much a mess tied together with duct tape. I've been sifting through it for a month and finally decided that you cannot use it to build a product on top of that.

To be fair, he explicitly asks for being held accountable on those grounds. That, you usually don't do if you are just talking about your "best black friends".

Facebook did create the ecosystem and the platform for these games, so "Facebook games" is a thing, one way or the other. It is also silly not to acknowledge that effect.

Yes, people _are_ irrational, especially the gaming community, that is largely driven by emotions. Also, Facebook gaming is seen as a huge danger for many "core gamers", so it isn't just anyone buying their stuff.

You are oversimplifying things as well. On the "cash on the table" side of things you are right: people put cash on the table and got the goods. On the other hand, Kickstarter is a platform where people invest in future of some ge

FWIW: "What does this take and what does it return?" is rarely a question that comes up in Ruby for me. In most codebases, thats a pretty easy question. For others, Clojure wouldn't help at knowing whats going on ;).

Mozilla is a non-profit that takes moral stances. So their CEO has to embody those values as well.

It would have been nice if he also addressed that issue in this message instead of a staff meeting. I mean, like, there is literally a world watching (geographically, not necessarily when it comes to population).

Which is true - as long as he is not the individual running the show. So "how much will this influence your role as CEO, as the prime manager of all those people?" is a valid question he has to answer to - and well.

I was on the wroc_love.rb conference this weekend and either people were playing 2048 on their notebooks or hacking on it - with other board layouts, other numbers or similar mods. Such fun. Very success.
