"Fairly decent" is a fairly low bar for a typesetting system.

The about page gives me no idea of what it is, especially as someone who knows TeX quite well. It starts with the single mistake all of those pages do: "It's like A, but with B!" On top of that, B is already in A. Typesetting

It's not only cool, the documentation is the primary test case for many of those projects.

I would find it interesting why this post was downvoted. What's wrong about voicing the opinion that this is no way to treat allies?

pandoc has very good conversion to docx and accepts external style files, so: some are doing both? ;)

This is the first thing you should do. It also makes questions like "what was incoming and outgoing last month?" very easy. (download csv. done.)

This post pulls a neat trick: the diagram they criticise is all android devices while their diagram is only phones. And suddenly: > The above diagram and analysis also only take into account phones, not tablets, _where designing for phy

One detail I always look at are the repair of buildings. e.g. the church in the picture still bears the damage (by the different color of stone), but is otherwise in the same state. In Berlin, for example, a lot of the damage of the fights

Except one, all those comments are on top of methods and the class. This can quite possibly be interface documentation. For a public API, this wouldn't be a lot of docs.

Europass is also largely unknown. Politics aside, it is a good format and I would much prefer to get standardized CVs like this, especially for the skill assessment in languages. The problem here is: some European countries use very particu

That wasn't a complaint, just an illustration on how things are quickly improving. Yes, it was a TCP issue, but presented to me through rust-http.

That's why I said "entitled". Yes, you don't have the license unless you pay GEMA (after the fact, btw), but the license must be granted to you at a fixed fee.

This is a tricky subject. If you are german, you are entitled to broadcast it. Germany has mandatory licensing for broadcast through GEMA.

I am not surprised. Most of the machinery necessary for such things is still developing in Rust. When I was testing my now-discontinued framework (widmann) using a very early version of rust-http, I felt lucky when it didn't drop or br

For example, Iterators are composable. I can return one from a function, append another iterator to the chain, return that and then iterate over the whole result (possibly, this leads to only one iteration internally). I cannot return a loo

There is a very special fun in learning Rust. It isn't stable in the sense that your code from last week will compile this week. On the other hand, it is currently stable enough that all the major concepts are there and most changes ar

Sure. But the problem in that case is that the client wanted the goodwill route and wanted it codified, which doesn't work ;).

That's an interesting one. I have a another example: trying to put codify in a contract. For example, I recently had a client asking me for on-call duty on a weekend. So I quoted that and put it in the offer. (fixed fee for being on ca

Another pattern I found is that CEOs with legal background tend to see contact negociations as an exercise in writing legally correct text (down to writing it themselves, even if they are not expert in that part of the law), which ends up t

This, by the way, is a sentiment directly addressed and validated in the video I linked. Gnome 3 is, on the other hand, a very good alternative for those that hated Gnome 2, which is the crowd I fall in.
