It’s something to do with the TypeScript engine, it must be. I can also run IntelliJ fine with a huge Java project a but it’s TypeScript projects that grind it to a halt. It’s unusable on my work PC but the performance is still poor on my h

I didn’t read the paper but I know OR has an option to opt-in to reading/training off the prompts for a discount. Some free models also log, but I’m not sure if that is just the provider, or OR too

Is this propaganda or gross naivety? It’s a corrupt dystopian hellscape where people starve regularly, and are exiled. The forced smiling puts Disney Land to shame. Why do you think you need a guide to go past a certain point? The only othe

It’s no different from people who undergo gastric bypass surgery. Those with food addictions/habits manifest them elsewhere such as gambling, or if they are seriously addicted, they continue to eat which bursts their band. My wife is b

Marvin Minsky, Lawrence Krauss, Steven Pinker, and Noam Chomsky all have academia as their common denominator - I wonder why Epstein was so interested in them, because they have a large amount of sway in academia?

If you are so sure about that why wouldn’t they make it a domestic law instead of an EU wide law? I’m not American nor Danish and I certainly do not trust my government. Kind of naive - no one should trust their government in this day and a

Everyone is unserious about phones except Apple these days unfortunately. I hate IOS but there’s nothing today that seems better.

DeepSeek obliterated Meta’s AI and their strategy. Even now there are alternatives to DeepSeek like Qwen. I don’t know how they will recover from it. I don’t know what they can offer other than additional ham fisted AI integration into thei

Tried to use openrouter with web search with Grok for this purpose yesterday. It got the date right but all of the news was months old, like the Mt. Etna eruption. It’s pretty disappointing. It seems like a “trivial” task

I am Irish, we are not an ethnostate whatsoever. Truthfully I don’t know why we have citizenship by descent but Irish people roll their eyes at Americans with Irish ancestry. It’s not about ethnicity though, it’s familial lineage. If your g

Tourism metrics are pointless and I'm surprised no one thought of a better way to measure these rankings involving freedom to work, freedom to live, access to embassies, geopolitical power etc

No it really doesn't matter. This crap is just a vanity metric to make people feel better about themselves or to feel self-righteous. You just need to look at the countries that require a tourist(!) visa of Americans, the vast majority

When I was around 10 years old I remember us asking the teacher why not just print money to solve the worlds problems and the teacher scoffing. It took me another 15 years to realise that’s basically what central banks do, especially these

Parents should be mature enough to not take a scandalous social media company too seriously without any scrutiny. Note I’m not saying that Facebook don’t profit from being as ineffectual as possible, but ultimately that parents should know

My parents didn’t care about the details of my education yet I did well. I don’t think most parents ever cared so it doesn’t explain the decline. I had discipline instilled in me however, and I am guessing that’s what is lacking nowadays.

Not the first time this has happened. It’s very strange. Elon is willing to risk breaking the laws of the EU, Brazil and the UK yet caters to Turkish law with seemingly no resistance whatsoever.

It depends how you use it. If you exclusively used 4o and o3 then it is better now. But if you’re like me who used all models it’s worse. 4.5 was amazing for writing and still far better than ChatGPT 5. 5 thinking is probably better than o3
