No, it's not. Between encryption and a high background communication noise of the cellphone already it's hard to discern exactly what is being sent. I don't think anyone thinks that they are, or will be sending all the sensor

I know that during the design of the original Pixel laptop, things like physically powering down and disabling the camera, rather than doing it in firmware was important to the team at Google. I wonder if they have maintained that vigilance

One good reason is the Unity -> WebASM pipeline isn't well suited for the web. Firstly Unity is built as a more heavyweight monolithic solution, decreasing load times, additionally, it's not meant for more seamless integration

I don't think it's true that the engine must be using a mutex to support it's async functionality. Or that it is true that an OS mutex will be any more efficient than alternative solutions. A mutex really can only exist to se

Do you really want to block all of your http calls on the result of the prior call in the off-chance that they might share a result just so you can only cache the results and not the promises? The reason we don't have a mutex in javasc

Sure enough, but in javascript if your balance operations can yield due to async requests than you already have a bigger problem than a shared in-memory variable. Which is really the only case a standard os-lock can solve. Let's say th

I mean the answer here is an async getBalance and setBalance is the incorrect way to do this, and a mutex won't solve that. if balance is a javascript variable, access shouldn't be provided by async functions. In the case that mut

Yes, I think that's a key innovation that Apple made. But my point was blackberry was a proof of the problems that people wanted solve. iPhone's innovation was an interface one. It feels like now, everyone is trying to solve the i

Yeah, maybe the newton of AR. I guess it was the internet and communication that made smart phones important, not the rest of what was in the newton. In that sense, maybe hololens is exactally the Newton of AR.

I'd like to point out that at the 256kbps throttle, you can actually only download about 80GB of data in a month. Add on the 22 GB pre throttling, and you get just over 100GB/mo hard cap. Really doesn't sounds like "unli

Maybe in theory, but you'd at least have to fit the entire neural net into the width of the computer. So we'd need a maching with millions of qubits? That's a bit hard to fathom.

Yeah, but Blackberry was there and we knew exactly some things that people wanted smart phones for. Apple was able to refine it into the iPhone. Today, what's even the Blackberry of AR? Where not really even at the Newton of AR yet.

I'd like to hear from OP also. But in my experience, x86 documentation is much more wide spread and available esp regarding system startup.

Just because the platform is running Linux and Vulkan doesn't mean that Google won't wall that behind their data centers. The PS4 runs on BSD.

Yes, indeed! However Google has historically shown that they are eager to shut down products, and the costs of distributing Stadia games far outweigh the costs of distributing Kindle books. Competition makes this also less likely to succeed

I think the primary worry is that A. Google has a long history of shutting down products that seems erratic. and B. the economics of this seem precarious, thus pushing on A. Where Steam has proven to be very profitable and Valve has a longe

The MS provided Emacs Emulation. You have to jump through some hoops to update it for 2017. It's not perfect, but it gets me close enough until I need to open in Emacs.

I setup the VS Emacs bindings and then always bind C-X C-E to open current file/line in Emacs from VS. With that I get along pretty well combining VS and Emacs.
